BCS’s integrated business management system for quality, environmental, and health & safety is certified to the recognised standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001.

ISO 9001: 2008

ISO 9001 accreditation demonstrates that we have an exacting quality management systems in place.

ISO 14001: 2004

ISO 14001 accreditation is an internationally accepted standard that demonstrates that we have an effective Environmental Management System (EMS) in place.

BS OHSAS 18001: 2007

BS OHSAS 18001 is an occupational health and safety management system accredited by UKAS that demonstrates that we have robust and internationally recognised OH&S management systems in place, along with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, BS OHSAS 18001 forms an integral part of our Integrated Management System.


Health & Safety underpins all of our business activities and is an area which we take seriously.  As a member of the British Safety Council (BSC), BCS has access to essential Health & Safety information and key legislation updates and compliance. Our membership also promotes our commitment to good health, safety and environmental management - we are proud to be affiliated with one of the world’s leading HSE organisations.

CE Marking

BCS has successfully implemented a Factory Production Control system to BSEN 1090-1. Our accreditation covers the design and manufacture of structural steel work up to and including Execution Class 4. The harmonised European Standard, EN1090 came into force for raw material in July 2013 and became mandatory for all manufactured components on July 1st 2014.


The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) is a health & safety membership scheme which is available for contractors or consultants. To obtain CHAS we have passed a detailed assessment of our health and safety procedures and practices.

CITB (Cskills Awards Improvement Centre)

Cskills Awards is the leading awarding organisation in the construction sector. Cskills build construction qualifications specifically for the construction industry, ensuring the quality and integrity of the industry recognised qualifications.

City & Guilds

City & Guilds are a worldwide leading vocational education training organisation. The City & Guilds qualifications are highly recognised by employers and help individuals expand their talents, knowledge and abilities to further their career. The City & Guilds certificate qualifications have been carefully designed to meet the current and emerging skills needed for the evolving construction and utility industry. They City & Guilds accredited training courses have been developed to ensure they provide relevant, modern and industry standardised learning.


Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related suppliers.


The Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) is designed to support industry employers and add value to the sector. Individuals who qualify for registration with EUSR are issued with a card and appear on the EUSR register. EUSR is beneficial to both employers and individuals as they move between companies or between industries. Employers have a robust way of verifying the abilities of their workers while individuals have a recognised method of demonstrating their abilities to employers.


The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a free, voluntary scheme operated by Transport for London. It encourages sustainable best practice for road freight operators who deliver in, and service, London or who intend to do so.

HAE SafeHire Certificate

SafeHire is operated by the Hire Association Europe, the internationally recognised leading body for the development of the hire and rental industry. HAE’s SafeHire Certification has been designed to raise standards across the hire sector by helping businesses improve Health & Safety procedures and customer service levels.

Investors in People

Investors in People (IiP) is a nationally recognised framework that helps organisations to improve their performance and realise their objectives through the effective management and development of their people.


The Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) is designed to be the single entry point for suppliers to the rail industry. Buyers of products and services throughout the GB rail industry use RISQS as its supplier qualification service. RISQS is industry-owned and embraces rail’s qualification arrangements previously known as Link-up.


Achilles UVDB is the community for the UK utilities industry. It enables the utilities sector to use Achilles' proven supplier pre-qualification system to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations.
